Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 11, 2026 | Last Updated: September 14, 2026
IOup LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Drive Prep mobile application, formerly Drive Prep NC (the "App"), and the Drive Prep website at driveprep.ioup.io, formerly driveprepnc.ioup.io (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and the Website use, where it goes, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- The App has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your test history, progress and settings stay on your device.
- The App is free to try. If you buy the one-time unlock, Apple or Google processes the payment, and RevenueCat, our purchase provider, keeps a record of it under a random ID so the unlock works and can be restored. We never see your name, email address or payment details.
- The Website uses Google Analytics to count visits and a few actions, such as finishing a practice test. Your checklist progress and settings are stored in your own browser.
The App
Information that stays on your device
The App stores the following on your device only, using on-device storage:
- Test history: date, score, duration, mode (practice or exam), your answers and topic breakdowns for each session
- Question progress: which questions you missed, learned or bookmarked, kept separately for each state
- Settings: the state you study for, language, dark mode, and explanation, timer and exam display options
- App bookkeeping: which unlock you own, whether you have used a state's free exam simulation, and the dates you opened the App, which decide when it asks for a rating
This information is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Purchases
The App is free to download and try. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full question bank. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under your store account. We do not receive your payment card or billing details.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage the unlock. When you view the unlock offer, buy it or restore it, and when the App checks what you own, it sends RevenueCat:
- a random identifier that RevenueCat creates for your installation, which is not connected to your name, email address or store account details
- your purchase and transaction history for the App, as confirmed by Apple or Google
- basic technical information needed to complete the request, such as the App version, platform, locale and currency, and your IP address as part of the network connection
RevenueCat uses this to validate purchases, prevent fraud, restore your unlock and give us overall purchase figures. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Buying, restoring or checking a purchase needs an internet connection. Studying does not.
Ratings
After you have used the App for a while, it may ask whether you want to rate it. That prompt is shown by Apple or Google. We do not learn whether you rated the App or what you wrote, unless you post a public review.
What the App does not do
- No account or login
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No analytics, usage tracking or automatic crash reporting
- No access to your location
- No selling or renting of your information
The Website
Analytics
The Website uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand how people use it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your browser and device type, the website that referred you, and your approximate location based on your IP address. We also record a few actions: when you follow a link to the App Store or Google Play, and when you finish a practice test or a round of sign practice, together with the state and your score. These records do not include your name or email address.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out browser add-on. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles this information.
Information stored in your browser
- Checklist progress: items you check off on a state's appointment checklist
- Theme: your light or dark mode choice
- Language: a small cookie that remembers whether you chose English or Spanish
- Offline copies: copies of pages your browser may keep so the checklist works without a connection
These stay in your browser. The language cookie is sent with your requests so the Website can show the right language; nothing else here is sent to us. Practice test answers are not saved at all. You can clear all of it by clearing your browser data, and the checklist has its own reset button.
Server logs
As with any website, our hosting provider receives standard technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, and keeps it for a limited time to deliver the Website and protect it from abuse.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message, and use them only to reply to you.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell or rent personal information. The only third parties that receive information are the service providers described above: Apple and Google for store purchases, RevenueCat for managing the unlock, Google for Website analytics, and our hosting provider. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Data Security
Information the App stores is protected by your device's own security, such as encryption and your screen lock. RevenueCat, Google and our hosting provider protect the information they process under their own security programs.
Keeping and Deleting Information
- You can reset your test history, progress and settings in the App's Settings screen. Your unlock is kept, so a reset never costs you what you paid for.
- Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored on your device. You can restore your unlock later from Settings with the same store account.
- RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as they are needed to restore purchases and meet legal and accounting requirements.
- Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account and then deleted.
- To ask about or delete purchase records kept for you, email support@ioup.io. The App has no accounts, so we may ask for your store order number to find them.
Children's Privacy
Drive Prep is used by people preparing for a learner permit, including teenagers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App collects no personal information of its own, and purchases by younger users go through the family and purchase controls Apple and Google provide, such as Ask to Buy. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices and Rights
You can see what the App stores on its own screens and delete it from Settings. On the Website you can block analytics cookies and clear your browser data. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you. To use those rights, email support@ioup.io.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will show the change by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
